The Co-relation of Rest and Food

We always knew that the amount of rest we get would affect how much we eat, and when. They always said that sleeping late would result in more occasions of having supper, and a lack of sleep makes you consume more food frequently. (Finally i have discovered why i eat so much, and non-stop -.-)

But did you know that what we eat, and when we eat also affects our sleeping patterns? Presenting to you, the food clock!

Wouldn’t it be interesting to take note of your eating habits, and how they link up with your sleeping patterns? :) Do drop me a comment on your thoughts for this!

  1. I eat when I’m hungry. That’s like, on an hourly basis. I sleep when I’m sleepy. Normally I’m sleepy at 2am but I sleep at 3am. Then I normally wake anytime from 7am to noon.

  2. I absolutely agree! During my holidays (between uni sems), I would get atleast 8 hours of sleep! And I would eat less frequently too because i’ll be full of energy after a good night’s rest… However, during the uni sem, I would get less than 6 hours of sleep.. So I will eat more often to gain energy and keep me awake during the day… And that causes me to gain more weight during the uni sem rather than during my holidays!

  3. i sleep late but supper isn’t my habit. if i’m hungry late at night, i’ll either drink some water (because sometimes our brains confuse thirst with hunger) or maybe have a small biscuit, nothing major.

    and i think it’s just common sense that if you sleep less, you’ll eat more since you spend more hours awake! :)

    • yea i agree haha :X except that i still eat at night zzz. maybe i should try stopping. or drinking stuffs yea never thought of that! :) thx haha!

      • i think it’s not so much self-control as it’s a super-ingrained habit now that i don’t snack at night. i do get pretty bad cravings sometimes, but it rarely occurs to me to just go eat! (but as long as i eat enough during the day, i normally don’t get peckish at night.)

        … & ok maybe it helps that my kitchen is downstairs. i’m too lazy to climb a set of stairs just to get food lol.

  4. I stop feeling hungry after 9 pm cos it’s sleeping time. And i get indigestion if i stay up later than 11.

  5. interesting. i can’t overeat after 8 or i wouldn’t be able to sleep until 2am. i gorge myself crazy for breakfast and then dont eat much after that.

    • wow immense self discipline! ahahha but what’s your breakfast like? i remember gasping at what you ate for lunch the other day :$ haha >.<
